This is a series of work during my BA study in Sichuan Fine Art Institute. One is a stop motion animation made by paper, another is a ceramic installment.

灵感来源Idea：

Many factors of the modern world lead us away from reality and truth. In a mechanized world, people’s life becomes absurd, weird and painful.” Alienation” — the whole human society is controlled by machinery and experience is materialized. Human beings suffer from the double isolation of technology and spirit.
It is not enough to know the whole world from one’s own experience because personal and cultural constraints often constrain people’s experience. People think they see things as they are. However, we do not know that when we use language to describe, we have covered with their cultural colour, but also covered by the glasses of others. The real thing became blurred.

We need to reconnect with the things around us. So I choose Mr Craig Raine’s “A Martian sends a postcard home” and stop-motion animation to show it, to express a sense of absurdity and weirdness. And I am honoured to get Mr Craig Raine’s permission to use his poem for personal creation.

When I created this character, I brought some of my features into it. Think of Red on Mars as a different version of myself, looking at the world around me with a new perspective.

人设Character ：

My name is Red. I am 200 years old. I live in a box, and I move by creeping and crawling.
I like to eat red things, and I am afraid of hairdressers because my hair made of metal. I’m curious, sensitive and easily distracted. When I’m alone, I will feel safe.
